do i need warfarin for svt
Warfarin is an anticoagulant to stop clots forming and causing a stroke. If your risk factors have been assessed and you have been put on warfarin yes you should take it. You can always stop taking the drug but you can't undo a stroke.
Not having AF doesn't remove your risk factors. Once given a score you can't remove it. For example if you score one for high blood pressure and take pills to control that, just because it is no longer high does not mean that you discount the score. You suffer from high blood pressure even though it is controlled so the score stands.
Frankly the stuff is so easy to take for me that even with no AF and limited risk factors I judge the alternative (stroke risk) to be far worse. Stroke and dementia are the two things I fear most, don't know about you?
hi mate .ye having a stroke scares the shit out of me aswel .they tell me my risk of stroke is zero .but with the lack of info its hard to trust them .seems like you have to force it out of them. ta mate
