please forgive my stupidity but what does E.P stand for.

EP stands for Electrophysiologist. . That is to say a cardiologist with a special interest in rhythm disorders, They are the electricians of the cardiology world as opposed to the normal plumbers who do surgery and by pass stuff. The EPs work in a catheter laboratory not an operation theatre so the sort of things they do like ablations are known as procedures not operations. Few general cardiologist have the knowledge to perform these delicate procedures and many sadly still do not take AF seriously which is why I always tell people to see an EP if possible.

No stupidity involved Phyllis. Many GPs don't understand these things!

Bob thank you for explaining EP to me. My AF comes and goes which is the nature of the beast and until I discovered HealthUnlocked I really floundered from episode to episode. Thank goodness I did find you, I do not feel as though I am on my own and I now feel in control of my condition due to the good advise posted on this forum. I am sad that so many people's lives are blighted by AF but I wish to thank, each an everyone who share their AF journey on this site, and who give such powerful advise and support.

A problem shared as they say.. It can be lonely out there as I well know but the forum is a great place to let go and share feelings. I do hope you may get to HRC in October and actually put some faces to names.
