I went to Insure and Go and paid £34.44 for my wire and I , this is for a 10 holiday to Mallorca this year , there are certain conditions , for example have you been in hospital in the last 6 months etc , but give them a try, their tel no is 0844 888 1587. Hope you have a good holiday

Hi Bucks

The AF Association website has a list of insurers who may be more sympathetic to those with AF. The list can be found here:

atrialfibrillation.org.uk/f...

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the patient services team on 01789 451837 or patientservices@afa.org.uk.

You may find this very difficult if you are waiting for a procedure. I was unable to do so.

Keep trying though! I would be very interested to hear if you are successful .

I found Marks & Spencer travel insurance fitted the bill but I am only going one night to Paris via Eurostar. I could manage the form with ease so at least I didn't suffer enough stress to trigger an episode of AF!

I read on a holiday forum some time ago that World First Travel Insurance covers all sorts of medical conditions. May be worth a phone call.

(I have no knowledge of them nor have I ever used them.)

Hi Bucks

It might be that the majority of insurers or specialist medical travel insurance providers take the same stance regarding people that are on waiting lists or awaiting a procedure.

Free Spirit travel insurance can provide insurance cover for people with a whole range of existing medical conditions, however we are unable to assist you on this occasion due to the warrenty detailed below and you may find this with other companies.

1. The customer is not fit to travel (as confirmed by their medical practitioner)

2. They are on a waiting list or are awaiting investigations or in-patient hospital treatment

3. They have knowledge of the need for surgery, in-patient treatment or investigations

4. They are aware of a medical condition but have not received a diagnosis

If the insurance provider does not ask you similar questions, I would suggest that disclose to them about your future procedure, just to make sure they are offering cover based on all known facts.

In the event you needed to claim for cancellation prior to departure, they could decline a claim based on non-disclose of material facts. The end premium you pay isn't awalys a true reflection of the insurance cover you are purchsing and always look at the excess, in the event of a claim. A cheap policy from the outset, may have a huge claims excess.

I hope this information has been of use to you.

Regards

Rachel
