“The role of the gut in cancer treatment, more equitable access to optimal cancer care and digitization of clinical trials are among topics that will take center stage this year”

Looking forward to learning more about gut health and cancer. An important topic .

“More equitable access to cancer care “ I wouldn’t hold my breath.

”digitization of clinical trials” Do they mean AI? I hope so

In order:

1 - super interesting, already working on my microbioma

2 - me too, thanks God I am lucky on that matter

3 - Yes, that too!

:-P fast and easy!

”digitization of clinical trials” as I understand it would include the records that are produced by the investigators. Still a lot of paper records in circulation which hinders the rate at which the data can be analyzed. Many sites have a fax machine but a computer to enter results may not be available. These devices are usually supplied by the sponsor to protect patient data.

Thanks for that clarification. Maybe once all the individual investigative data is digitized you would need an AI to parse it and correlate it with the hundreds of other trials completed over the years and come up with something useful!

“Digital innovation can enhance every stage of clinical trials,” said Kim. “This year, we’ll see more organizations introducing scalable electronic platforms to remove barriers to trials and standardize access to them. Artificial intelligence will be increasingly leveraged, as AI-powered data sets, protocol designs and monitoring systems will create efficiencies.”

So yes, everything should speed up!

I'm not sure how much speed will be introduced but the cost to process records should decrease.
