I had SBRT to my prostate and sternum this morning and have felt really tired all day. Is that common or just a coincidence? Thanks.

Fatigue During SBRT
Fatigue happens. Dont fight it, and nap as needed during RT.
Didn't you have SBRT in the past?
I did but the fatigue didn't hit me for several days afterwards. That SBRT was to L4 vertebrae
That's some of the worse advice I've ever seen. Why would you say a thing like that?
why not. I napped 2 hours after RT due to fatigue because my body needed it.
I slept 10 hours at night.
I exercised 2 hours in the morning.
2 weeks after 33 sessions I was back to normal.
Yup that’s bad advice👍
There is only one way known to reduce radiation-induced fatigue-- exercise! The other benefit is that exercise increases cell oxygenation, which protects healthy cells, and reduces hypoxia of tumors, increasing the ability of radiation to destroy cancer cells.

When someone is feeling fatigued from radiation, the last thing they need is someone telling them to take it easy. I often advise them to get a trainer to force them to push it harder.
I totally disagree, you rest for the fatigue, then exercise when rested.
You took what I said out of context. Fatigue hit me, I rested my body that afternoon, then I exercised before the next round.
Oh, yeah, thats not in a clipping you would find!!
.
One does not rest for radiation-induced fatigue. There is a lot of evidence (in that link) that you exercise for radiation-induced fatigue to make it go away.
I usually don't even look at others' replies, but I saw yours and it was so egregiously wrong, I had to comment. It is harmful because patients who are looking for any excuse to avoid exercise may look at it as an excuse to take it easy. Instead of saying "This is what I did," you prescribed, "Don't fight it, and nap as needed during RT." Be careful with your casual comments, they may do harm.
Coincidence. You wouldn't experience fatigue after one treatment, probably not even after 5. Don't give in to it- exercise!
You have much good advice to give. Why not give it freely instead of this little game you usually play?
I see that you are playing a game in offering this unwanted advice. Clearly you are just another troll who has nothing useful to say.
TA, don't take the bait, at the end of the day, your positive inputs, knowledge and help to all of us on this journey are of such importance, please just let any negative comments slide right off like water off a duck. Please, we need your knowledge and appreciate you so much, don't get sucked into replying to any petty personal attacks, you have a purpose that , to some of us, appears divinely inspired, Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. God Bless you, and all of us on this journey!
Had full pelvic SBRT (5 sessions) No fatigue
Thank you everyone.
Feeling fatigued is usually a normal feeling after your big head or little head has been radiated....
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

my husband had SBRT and didn’t have any fatigue, but he did continue going to the gym 3x/week, and walking with me a couple times a week. Everyone’s experience will be different as well as how they cope with it. I hope you feel better soon.
