Dads starting to feel minor aches one month post chemo - normal?

Hey everyone,

My dad finished 6 cycles of Docetaxel one month ago (Oct 5). He was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in February this year PSA of 200, which has now decreased to 0.59. He took the triplet therapy route. Background is in my bio.

The last few weeks he’s been feeling great almost back to his usual self. However he mentioned he noticed that his shoulders and lower back are aching again the last few days. This has me concerned. It’s minimal from what he’s told me but I want to ensure I don’t miss anything. His follow-up appt with his MO is at the end of December but do you think I should request something earlier? Or is this normal ?

Look what he has been through, believe me, it's normal. This is coming from a guy who has stage 4 aggressive advanced, castrate resistant, prostate cancer. I was diagnosed 10 years ago and I'm still here with many issues, but nothing I can't handle.

I'm in a similar situation with bone mets invertebrate and originally all over the ribs. Triplet therapy including the chemo has been successful so far. I have gone through the periods where little aches and pains trigger a cascade of worry.

Fortunately they've all gone away one after the other. But the experiences have been quite memorable.I even imagine that some of the aches are related to cancer waking up - and then I work harder at lowering my intake of carbs or sugar, and upping my exercise, and continuing with the usual supplements like lycopene, and then a few weeks later everything is okay. I imagine that any lesions that have woken up and been painful then go back to sleep. But this is pretty woo self-diagnosis! 😀

When you think about this logically however these pains could be coming from a newly aggressive metastasis!

It is not unusual. If the pains worsen, let your onc know. The aches are all part of the ADT.
