RCGG (Greek Test) for Circulating Tumor Cells.

Has Anyone Had this Test done?? It is quite different from Foundation One Test. Much more comprehensive from what I understand. Not covered by Insurance.

There were 2 poeple that used it and reported here pre-covid. Then with the pandemic air freight got cumbersome and it became difficult to send the blood sample to Florina Greece within reasonable timeframe. So, I am not sure that you will find any recent reports about it from your side of the pond.

I have not had it done, but I have read a lot about it. I heard that it tells you what specific drugs will help kill your type of cancer.

They introduce different drugs to CTCs in a petri dish and count how many die. Knowing what drugs would kill your cancer cells would be great if it actually worked, but what works in the lab probably won't work in the patient's body.

Sat in on a presentation on this a couple months ago. I'm skeptical for 3 reasons. The people presenting, one from the company and the other a doc who is "certified" by them, were both chiropractors, as are many of their providers. Another reason (& main one) is they say they grow in culture millions of cells from the (maybe) 100 or so CTCs extracted from the blood sample in 24-36 hours. That's biologically impossible. Finally, you can only get the test from one of their providers, not your oncologist.

Are you sure that the 24-36 hours represent the multiplication phase time and not the time that the blood sample must reach their lab? My understanding of their 2 stage routine was (may have changed now) that upon reception of the blood sample they will be performing a CTC count and if there are enough cells for cultivation they start doing this while at the same time report initial findings and ask the patient whether he agrees to proceed with the second stage that comprises testing the effect of common drugs and optionally supplements on the cultivated cancerous cells. This forward-back communication lasts a couple of days during which the cultivation is performed.

I have done this test 3 times and will do it a 4th time in September. Based on this I also do their SOT protocol and have done 2 IST treatments a few years ago. My CTC count went from 4.8 to 2.4 I also follow their supplement protocol. I use an MD in FL for all of this. Their facebook support site is also very good and administered by an ND. Not sure if and how much it helps but I use it as supplemental and supportive means and NOT as primary. Just like sulforaphane Broq pills and many others. I show all of this to my Oncologist at the Medical College of WI who shared it with his colleagues in different states as well and they monitor all my numbers. They say there might be something to this BUT it is very expensive and do not mortgage the house for this for sure.
