has anyone ever had successful radiation to the C2 and/or the hilar lymph node? Dr. Sartor says it is tricky but thinks it would be a good option for my husband

radiation to C2 or hilar lymph node
yes it was confirmed with a needle biopsy
thank you for this information
It is possible to irradiate those 2 mets , but he has others. Consider to discuss having other systemic therapy along with Lupron. He could have zytiga, xtandi, apalutamide, chemo etc. The combination of any of these drugs along with ADT has been effective to prolong life.
That can be dangerous. Although DR Sartor is a great MO, he is not a radiation oncologist. More to the point, what is the point of getting radiation to C2 and the hilar lymph node? There is no known benefit to irradiating these, and it may cause permanent damage.
that is what I am concerned about. Dr Sartor has referred us to a radiologist but I don’t think my husband has any intention of going through with it considering the possible risks. I’m not sure the radiologist will even agree to doing it. I asked Dr Sartor what treatment would be if he didn’t do radiation and he said hormone therapy. He’s leaving for Minnesota at the end of the month so I don’t know what we will do. I would love to find a trusted MO closer to where we live - Mississippi
