Malecare was founded in 1998 with a bold mission - to improve the lives of those affected by prostate cancer, focusing on people from underserved communities.
For over 25 years, Malecare provided support groups, provided educational materials, and partnered with healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the best care. We created first-in-class support groups, in-person and online, which are actual peer-to-peer support groups, not monthly lectures, marketing events, and advertising-laden forums.
Malecare pioneered novel awareness initiatives and an understanding of prostate cancer. We advocate for effective, durable treatments free from side effects and universally affordable. And we don't just talk about research.
Malecare is among the few patient advocacy nonprofits holding medical device and method patents. Our staff has worked as primary and co-investigators on many projects, including NIH/NCI-funded R01s, leading to approximately 40 published papers in high-impact journals, nearly a dozen book chapters and white papers, and presentations at leading global oncology conferences.
I will share more about our work over the next few weeks. I hope you won't get bored.
Please let me thank Malecare's passionate volunteers, donors, and partners. Your unwavering commitment is heroic.
Malecare's community exemplifies the power we have when we come together to tackle a challenging problem. We will continue our mission to create a world where everyone lives longer and happier lives.
