metformin & trental are both generally good for you without any side effects

It's credible that either or both will extend you life and life quality

well, no side effects if there are no side effects…. After a couple of years on 1000mg daily I started vomiting pretty regularly and had to give it up. I preserved for months but there’s only so many times you can throw up before it all gets too hard.

Jack - I found it a quite interesting article with some info on researchers who'd I would consider worthy of listening to. I'm always on the fence with metformin. I have a prescription for it - 2x 500mg per day.. since I'm on the fence I only take 1x/daily. 😘

Is there something going on that you haven't told us about? This is the 2nd post in a day you've made that I'd consider really quite negative toward the members of this group. Is there anything we can help you with?

I also take 500mg/day, I started at 250 and increased to 500 after a few months. So far I don't have any side effects. I'm thinking of upping it to 750 or 1000, the idea being that maybe a slow increase will be better tolerated. I also started taking a statin a few months ago, there seems to be evidence that metformin+statin does some good against PCa. (retrospective study at pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/320... "in post-diagnostic users: combination use of metformin/statins was associated with a 32% reduction in all-cause mortality (95% CI, 0.57-0.80), and 54% reduction in PCa mortality (95% CI, 0.30-0.69). No significant association of metformin alone was observed with either all-cause mortality or PCa mortality.")

Well metformin has knocked my A1C down into the normal range and it is supposed to slow down prostate cancer. That's enough for me. What's not to like? I guess there's no double blind clinical trials for its anti-aging claims. 😜
