Results were given to me yesterday. I talk with doc next week to determine what the game plan will be. Two schools of thought with a Gleason score of 7. I prefer to be proactive.

TP biopsy results 3 + 4 Gleason
You need more info to make a decision. What percent of the cores with GS3+4 had cancer and what percent of the GS3+4 was pattern 4?
You should immediately have the biopsy cores sent to Jonathan Epstein at Johns Hopkins for a second opinion:

Here are some questions to ask at your meeting:

Than you!
please, PLEASE, PLEASE continue to research BECAUSE as gourd_dancer states -- " ... in 2004 there were more than two schools of thought... "
IMO having reviewed your postings, I believe your actions taken so far are good so don't mess things up by deviating from doing more research and seeing how this GREAT GROUP of concerned individuals thinks!!!!
just My 2 cents worth
What two schools of thought are you referencing? I had a Gleason 7(4+3) and in 2004 there were more than two schools of thought. As Allen stated, there is not enough information.

I think you are referring to treat or active surveillance. But really as others have pointed out within the “treat” option there are quite a range of options, some more intense and others less invasive. Here’s the strange thing about 3+4 prostate cancer - there is no “right” solution for everyone. This is because the things that make for a wise choice can be quite personal - how old you are, how fit you are, how much time away from work you can do, what side effects most worry you. My best advice is to look into all the options and then make the choice on what YOU want, not necessarily what the doctor (who has his/her own preferences) suggests.
