Bad news. I had similar and a catheter for 6 months b4 I got a TURP. Worked great and 5 yrs later can still pee freely. Sadly, after the TURP, had an MRI and biopsy. Prostate cancer confirmed and out of the capsule. Been a long fight since. I hope you get better news but my advice now is get an MRI so they can see if you have a prostate tumour. Then get that catheter out and the problem sorted. Are you in the UK? Seems your not getting the medical support you need, common in the UK.

I was in a similar situation so had a green light vaporisation of the prostate. It is what it says on the box.

I knew I had prostate cancer (because Im well, not retarded). This was confirmed by biopsy during the procedure (The cancer. Not the level of retardation).

It no big deal. I had it done 16 months ago. Immediate benefit. Zero issues.

I would rather get one of these done than eat McDonalds (or Subway or Hungry Jacks or KFC) etc etc.

Not advice, just my opinion.

Advice given to me by the RO RN after Brachytherapy and IMRT for primary treatment in 2003: “Do not stop drinking water. You need the waterworks to work. If you shit down, you will end up on the ER to be catheterized. Take your Flomax twice a day. (Even after 19 years I take two Flomax a day). Take Sitz Baths and relax. Pee away. It won’t hurt you. You may have to take 4/5 a day from arising in the morning to bed at night. And sometimes in the middle of the night.”

Occasionally I still follow her advice whenever I feel like I am retaining urine. BTW, I confirmed her advice with my WWII RN mother. Good luck.
