After radiation on my prostate 9 years ago, cancer showed in the seminal vesical. Told removal risks damage to rectum tissue due to the rad therapy. Does the time lag reduce the risk?

Urologists tell me that radiation permanently changes the tissue so that it becomes "sticky" and is hard to cut out cleanly. It's not worth risking a fistula. Consider a different form of focal ablation.

Thanks for your suggestion. Hadn’t heard of some of those terms so you gave me a direction to seek info.

BTW- Do not believe any surgeon who says he can do it. Most surgeons are "hot dog" types who believes he's the one who can do it. I have seen too many guys who have had salvage surgery who had fistulas and have had to have colostomy bags.
