Ra223 is only palliative. Are there any Luticium trials open in US?

Ra223 is NOT only palliative. It has the same survival improvement as Lu177PSMA617.

Thanks for the update. The radiology Dr told me that Ra223 was palliative and increased OS by only 3 monthsThe info was probably misinterpreted by me. Prior I discussed combining therapy’s with my RO but he wanted to wait until I had 2 infusions and checked the scans and blood work to see if the lymph nodes show any changes as Lymparza had controls them Excellently. My bone cancer is what was showing resistance to the Lymparza with new Mets and pain in my spine.

Some medicines increase survival, some only relieve pain.

Yes and some do both.It seemed the poster was a bit against offered treatment because it was palliative in nature.

I just wanted to point out the obvious of all tx being palliative.

It is a interesting term. It can lead one to assume no hope even though the term doesn't specifically imply that. I consider it to be a term/word to help guide treatment covering both longevity and QOL.

I had provenge last July, am on Xtandi now, am on Zometa now, Zero T, and now taking Xofigo. Kind of seems like combo to me.... hoping for the best..

Xofigo, like Provenge, often doesn't change PSA - one just lives longer and has less pain.

I have had Ra223 treatments. My hip metastasis shrank and the pain went away. That treatment was five years ago.

I am being treated at Vanderbilt Medical Center. They have a LU-177 trail going on right now. You have to meet certain criteria. The one that prevented me from getting in was fact I was taking pain medication. My oncologist says that she expects LU-177 to be FDA approved by the middle of the year. Once that happens, it will be easier to get treatments. Thanks

My MO at Rocky Mtn Cancer center told me they are starting a trial of Lu177. Exclusion criteria are prior treatment with Lu177 and/or docetaxel treatment. Good Luck.

Hello Goldberg! All treatments for stage #4 APC are considered palliative .. Good luck 🍀
