Out here in the rain, It only took me45 min for 7 miles. I like it at home. Snow slowed our 5 1/2 hour trip over Snowqualame to 7 hours. Happy white Christmas.

Good old Snowqualme Pass. We left Seattle when I was about 10 but Snowqualme Pass came up regularly in conversations long after we moved.

I had the great luck about 10 years ago of a work trip to Wenatchee.

Flew into Seattle in the a.m. and drove to my childhood home and grade school to jog my memory.

Then drove to Wenatchee via Snowqualme Pass and when I was done a week later with the job at Wenatchee drove back to Seattle via Stevens Pass.

Fantastic drives. Weather was good of course.

Next time you see a car commercial on TV watch how fast those cars just go whizzing by....

Reality:

From Connecticut, you get to Manhattan in four hours and then spend two hours looking for a parking space and finally settle parking in a local parking facility. That will cost you $48.00 + tax for the first 1/2 hour and finally they will take you car as collateral for the remaining costs (and of course then there's the tip) ....

Get this, in my neighborhood parking for one hour at a meter costs $2.25 and for two hours it's $5.00...(and math was not my favorite subject, sex was/is).
