Hey Lulu700!

I buy my sprouts at Whole Foods market. They are grown in Pennsylvania. It seems that the seeds are placed in a plastic container, watered as necessary and the sprouts when grown are packed in tightly.

That’s cool. We use a glass jar for sprouting. It Takes four days

Hey Lulu700!

That company has quite a variety of sprouts it nurtures in those plastic containers. I think the broccoli sprouts are only $1.99.

Where do you get your seeds? What form of glass do you use? I have been buying them but growing would be even better.

in reply to treedown

Natures grocery or Whole Foods have the seeds and kits to grow . It’s a ball type glass jar with a screen in the lid for air circulation.

On empty stomach, recommend the people who take it.

It may interfere with radiation or immune therapy, otherwise I don't know of any contraindications.

TA I believe you have written earlier that it can interfere with chemotherapy as well, is that correct?

Tall_Allen profile image

I can't find a reference for chemo, but I wouldn't take anything with there's a chance of interference. The relative benefit is like a squirt gun compared to a firehose.

Thanks Allen - I have been wanting to take sulpharophane. But nervous to mess with the biochemistry that I don’t understand well enough and with Keytruda working pretty well for me - don’t want to rock the boat. Is your comment on immunotherapy from a lack of research?

Read the links.

So complex. Double edged sword. Healthy in fight against cancer cells, negative for radiation and immunotherapy. I have been eating cabbage and broccoli in abundance, but maybe stop/slow if undergoing specific treatment.

One more piece of this complex puzzle. “It all works, but nothing works well”.

I've found it fine and Dr Geo in his Thrive Prostate Cancer book recommends brocc seed (sulforaphane) supplements.

Hello TheTopBanana!

You may want to look at LifeExtention's 'Optimized Broccoli and Cruciferous Blend' and review it's formula. Jarrow is a top quality supplement company. The LE blend might be, through synergy, a little more potent.

The most potent form of live broccoli is broccoli sprouts, not florets, but sprouts. These should be eaten raw as in a salad or a side to a salad with a bit of organic, virgin, cold pressed, olive oil, some mustard, (mustard helps absorption), and freshly ground black pepper. The oil and pepper also increase absorption. Thinly slicing a clove of raw garlic on top of a couple or three bites of broccoli sprouts on the side of a salad, topped with mustard makes the garlic almost unnoticeable. A side of pasta with a tomato sauce is a source of lycopene or some minestrone soup with some tomato paste added. A cup of green tea and there is now a meal that has a few things going for it. Perhaps a sandwich made with garlic bread and sauteed onions, mushrooms and peppers with maybe a bit of Italian dressing drizzled on it?

You are a good daughter! There is a day to honor fathers, mothers and of course, wedding anniversaries to honor a spouse--but not a day to honor a daughter or son. Someone like yourself makes one think about that.

Daughters usually leave the nest soon. My son burnt my house down, stole my wife's car, used my credit cards and is now sleeping on my couch. To forgive is divine, and costly.

Never buy j-o-h-n and j-e-r-r-y's Ice Cream. I occasionally take a Brocco. If your Dad wants to, it is just fine. There is so much yay and nay about supplements, I decided to mostly ignore the subject. Special diets also. Now that I have made 80% of the people here mad at me, do what you feel is right and what your Dad feels is right also. I would pass on the broccoli ice cream.
