Started Eligard injections five months ago ..noticeable shortness of breath even when walking short distances.....how many experiencing same

I am on Eligard also and I get a little short of breath just walking at a fast pace from my car to a building or going up 1 flight of stairs. In my readings, here and on other sites, doing an exercise program helps. But I also agree, make sure it isn’t something else like your heart or a lung issue.

I was experiencing the same thing and thought it had something to do with Eligaurd or Xtandi I am taking. Told my OC about it and she told me very unlikely that it would be caused by either of these. She ordered me a stress test which came back a little abnormal and they sent me to take a CT scan where they took a look at my heart. I had a 90% -95% blockage on a vessel which the technician told me was what is referred as a widow maker. I was transported by ambulance to Community North in Indy where I had a CABG (open heart surgery) the following AM. Point is do not fool around , get it checked out ASAP. I was lucky that I didn’t just brush it aside and told my OC.

Don’t even think the cause is Eligard. See a Cardiologist ASAP!

ADT is associated with anemia and low hemoglobin. So, having fewer RBCs(Red Blood Cells) and with low Hgb (transports Oxygen) will lead to dyspnea (shortness of breath)I take Vitamin B12, Beet root capsules, and before I exercise a Nitric Oxide booster.

I had a six month eligard shot but continued workouts at the gym and I experienced no shortness of breath with eligard.

My hubby has only gotten one injection of Eligard with no side effects. Due for a second on 11/18/21. Best of luck
