I'm curious if any of you taking Erleada have cancer that has metastasized. My father had advanced Prostate cancer which had metastasized into his bones. He was 86. He was on the treatment for two weeks in which time his health severely deteriorated. The day his doctor decided we should stop the treatment to see if he would improve, this man, with a heart like an ox, died of a sudden fatal cardiac arrest. Any insight would be helpful.
THank you

First off, my sincere condolences. My situation is different, but thought I would reply.
My PSA started rising, quickly. I was first placed on Casodex. It did nothing. I was seeing a urologist and switched to a Medical Oncologist. I was told that I needed to go on a new androgen inhibitor. I was started on Erleada along with Lupron and Xgeva.
I was placed on these meds to keep my cancer from metastasizing. I was 58 at the time.
My condolences to you, his family and friends. Sorry I cannot respond to your inquiry but I know it must be a terrible shock to see a man so strong die so suddenly. Tomorrow will be the anniversary of my father's fatal heart attack. I think of him all the time and I regret that at the end I did not say goodbye and that I loved him. May the thought of your Dad remain in your heart forever. Good Bless you all.
I'm on lupron and erleada, psa dropped to undetectable, have periods when the side effects can be quite uncomfortable. I am 4+3 with bone mets and 79+.
