Regardless of health benefits, I feel less restricted because I only have to worry about one meal. I can also eat a lot more during my OMAD sitting (I eat around 4000 calories a day and during OMAD I stuff them all into a half-hour window). I really enjoy the big meal. I also feel better physically. I get tired after the OMAD and can nap for 45 minutes or so. And I have been sleeping better at night.

I just came off a diet and feel like I am also now doing what amounts to "one meal a day" but... the meal lasts about fourteen hours, not half an hour!
Lol! I have been starting around 11-12 and ending 11:30-12:30.Today was an exception. I went to lunch with my wife, so started at 11:15 and didn't end until 1.
As usual, I was zonked after. So I napped for an hour or so.
TRF, time restricted feeding is great. I do 16\8. Daily. There is a new book about 2MAD, with two meals a day.
I started this about 5 years ago with keto to reverse my dm with great success. I have continued this with ADT to reverse the hyperglycemia also successfully.
The body thus has two modes - food intake (high insulin) and fasting (low insulin). Either we store energy or we burn it! It's one or the other! If intake and fasting are balanced, we maintain a stable weight. To find that balance, most of us living in a high income country need to increase the time we burn energy (fasting). If that means eating one meal a day (or two, or three) is individual. Everyone has to find their own balance point. Applause that you found yours.

I know how you feel about it RSH1, I actually did an AWESOME JOB of losing weight when I ate every 36 hours. After eating *smack* *gobble* *slurp*, I would definitely take a nap hahaha.
