Get your grandchildren vaccinated, the drug Gardasil was developed about 12 years ago as a protection for females against Cervicale Cancer but has been found to also protect against other cancers. In Australia, where it was first developed, we currently vaccinate 15 year olds and have an uptake of about 80% for girls and 76% for boys.
The papillomavirus has been found in about 25% of PCa patients and 9% of benign prostates:-
I should add that Gardasil, is a free inoculation given in schools in Aust. to 15 year olds, Merck suggests it can be administered up to the age of 45. The study states :-
Prevention
There are three preventative vaccines against HPV infections, Cervarix®. protects against HPV 16 and 18, Gardasil® protects against HPV 16,18, 6 and 11, Gardasil® 9 protects against HPV 6,11,16,18, 31,33,45,52,and 58. (HPVs 6 and 11 cause genital warts) Gardasil and Cervarix, have been widely used during the past decade [92], but Gardasil® 9 is the current choice.. These vaccines have been shown to be both effective and safe. Their early use was mainly in young girls to prevent cervical cancer. Their use has been recommended to boys to prevent genital warts and penile cancer. It is not known how long HPV vaccines administered to young males can remain effective. This is relevant to prostate cancer which may not develop for decades after an initial infection by HPVs.
HPV is also a cause of oral cancers. Men and women, both. My wife was diagnosed with glossopharyngeal cancer with HPV origin in November. (bottom of tongue, tonsil and one neck node). After two months of chemo and radiation she is declared NED for life today. I had her head and neck cancer doctor look into my mouth and he said I was healthy.
My wife is also a survivor of ovarian cancer. CA-125 is a protein which doctors follow after treatment for OVCA to determine how close to monitor survivors. CA-125 also appears in oral cancers and is how my wife was diagnosed for oral cancer. Her ovarian doctor saw a rise of CA-125, successive scans and exams found no OvCa and his suspicion was oral cancer which the head and neck doctor confirmed.
