Why 91? My uncle at 89 was treated for PCa in January; his treatment was cyberknife.

How is your uncle doing. We have never heard of cyber knife, but will research. Thank you.

Cyberknife is radiation. I had cyberknife in January of 2016 and doing well. Uncle Dick is doing well as well. :).

I just read your other post. Cyberknife is usually for early stage.

Yes, he was told because of his aggressive cancer and his age that his best treatment is Lupron. I do think that we have been blessed in that he is not in any pain and no side effects from the injection. He does have to use a walker.

My dad was diagnosed with APC at about age 80. He was managed successfully on ADT until age 91, when he died of--something else.

Love to hear that your dad lived 11 years after diagnosed with APC. Maybe my husband will live 11 more years (102). He has no other chronic conditions.

My dad developed lung cancer after the APC diagnosis. That didn't get him either.

My dad’s is 92. His psa was been gradually rising for ten years. His psa was 1500 in January of 2019. He started Lupron in February 2019 and his psa went down to 35 but then it started to rise again in March of 2020. He will start Xtandi this month. He has tolerated lupron very well and is able to remain at his home as he is otherwise very healthy. The only side effects are hot flashes and fatigue but not too bad. Hoping he will be able to tolerate the side effects of the new drug but time will tell. He’s happy and so I’m happy. Each day is a gift at 92 :)
