About a year ago, there was this insane post/thread between Tall_Allen and another member about compounding pharmacies. Thankfully, we have John Oliver to tell us more. youtu.be/Nuzi7LlSDVo

about compounding pharmacies
Darryl,
Early this year, I had a very good experience with compounding pharmacies when I was trying to locate a source of DES. CVS doesn't carry it. LOL
My fellow Brit John Oliver seems to think that drugs are safe if you can get them at CVS. But let's consider the case of Ranitidine [Zantac]. It's been used for decades. The "contamination" issue seems due to to the unstable nature of Ranitidine. It can break down to form N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). CVS no longer carries it.
I doubt that anyone in this group is familiar with the metabolites formed from the drugs they take, the clearance times, the exposure issues. .... Or even the countries of origin.
"U.S. Dependence on Pharmaceutical Products From China"
"Last month {July}, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission held a hearing on the United States’ growing reliance on China's pharmaceutical products. The topic reminded me of a spirited discussion described in Bob Woodward’s book, Fear: Trump in the White House. In the discussion, Gary Cohn, then chief economic advisor to President Trump, argued against a trade war with China by invoking a Department of Commerce study that found that 97 percent of all antibiotics in the United States came from China. “If you’re the Chinese and you want to really just destroy us, just stop sending us antibiotics,” he said."
