I received notice in the mail welcoming me to WellCare Part D prescription Drug Plan.

My initial response was to be perplexed. I did not sign up for a new plan. WellCare bought Aetna Part D drug plans. This was apparently required for the $69 Billion CVS/Aetna merger to get approval. The note has a lot of words. It doesn't mention Aetna but says welcome to WellCare.

There is a change in the way they are pricing Zytiga (generic), When I first started CVS and Aetna Specialty Pharmacy was 1/2 the price. They are now all the same.

Unless I am missing something, it seems like doing business with the 3 related companies, may not be such a great idea. I am checking with brokers to see if I want to make a change during the Annual Election Period (October 15-Dec 7).

I am suspicious this will not be good for consumers (me). If anyone has thoughts to share, I am interested in hearing them. I will share whatever I learn from the broker I used as well as others I will touch base with.

This happened to my wife. It is such a rude note there is only one appropriate message in return. It is to jump ship and switch plans come October 15.

The old Aetna plan was not especially kind to the more expensive prostate cancer drugs anyway. With Aholes now in charge, it is unlikely to get any better.

We also got switched to WellCare.

Our insurance before that was Todays Options.

Since my husband was just diagnosed the end of May we aren’t sure what will happen with coverage down the road. Anyone else have thoughts or info?
