I’ll call !!!

Hang in there my friend !!!!

Enjoy life

That’s some stark realism ... sometimes life is such .. How about no guns to our head ever ? I will call you Daddy , if that helps . My only daughter hung up on me 4 yrs ago upon dx. Told me I’m a SAD man . Not a word since . My adopted daughter is a wonderful women . Joy to the world, just like her mom . We did our best with the kids .. Take care Bill..😂

Bill68, I feel for you as my husbands kids did quite the same with him. Got a call only on birthday, Father’s Day and Christmas if we were so lucky 😔

Sadly diagnosis did not really change that. We did the best we could with/for them and sadly now they live with their choice and cannot change the outcome now that he has passed.

Please no guns to head thoughts, as I and others wish you a Happy Father’s Day and many more please! ❤️

To Tub,

My memory sucks like most of us, so I had to go back to research your sweetheart

Chris who pass on 01/11/2019. Then I saw his picture and remembered the good looking guy with the mustache. His children will have to live their lives with a hole in their heart that time and selfishness will never heal....

Is it a coincidence that you picked 111 to add to your user id?

Bless you for thinking and staying with us and remember Chris is thinking of you...

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

j-o-h-n thank you for such kind words. And yes unfortunately the kids will have to live with their choices but I will never make them feel guilt from me.

As for my id, Chris’s boat race number has been “111 or originally 1111” since he started tub racing 40+ years ago. His choice because it was the easiest number to spray paint 😉

And yes there is irony in the date he passed 1-11-19 and also the approximate time of 1:11am as per hospice and also his dx date of 1-11-18.

I jokingly said to him two days before that he was purposely waiting for that date so that none of us would forget!!😁 He sure proved me right 💞

And yes I will quietly lurk on here for some time as I have made many friends and acquaintances here and will continue to cheer you all on !

Thank you again ❤️

Now that was clever of him.... painting 111 is easier to paint.... he was my kind of guy... hopefully I'll meet him one day...and fist bump him unless our wings get in the way... Take care...

Hi Bill68. I recall that you already get all kinds of care from the VA. Perhaps you could look into adding a VA counselor for PTSD and emotional stresses related to your current life situation. Their counselors specialize in talking with veterans who have had combat experience, and who have families marked by the stresses of serving in the military, and for those dealing with serious illnesses & disabilities. Maybe go there and spill your guts about those kids, and whatever else is on your mind.

neither do mine. well, they don't call their mother either. We've learned to find the quietest resturant possible and have a nice celebratory meal.

Oh, yeah, I did get texts. Seems like a way to avoid having a conversation.
