In a previous post from 5 days ago, a member writes a post called “no way to know if it is working”. Well into the 50+ response, a member displays his 2 cents worth in 5 point discussion on how posting some of the comments made by so many was a waste of time and should be made through other methods of communication. It was a picture, I dare you to look. If you put that in front of me, (I don’t have a great appetite), I would gobble it down right after taking my Zitiaga! Here I go, off topic.
Personally, I kind of enjoy some of the off topic posts and humor. There are many subjects of humor I’ve thought about writing, one.... my interrogation at the airport by TSA Pre Check watching TSA agents go into Barney Fife mode. My wife will just bust out laughing sometimes just thinking of some of the things I’ve done or have happened to me since I got diagnosed. I’m like the 5 year old at the front door covered in mud.
I think I have a right to have this opinion, I’ve drank gator blood and you know what? I’m still here. I’ve learned so much here, I admire so many and appreciate their wisdom. I don’t think some topics of humor or desire take up too much of my time and at least help me to think of other things than this disease that will kill me.
I’m not going to respond to any, this is a “go where it wants to” post. I’m going to be out of town for a few weeks and won’t be posting much.
Please put your “2 cents worth” about topics that wander”, but still, you might learn something. I’m still thinking about that chicken & dumplings!
It might even get entertaining, blow off some steam, no fighting please. Damn, I feel better already!

There's no forum rule limiting discussions to medical questions. This is a support group, not grand rounds. Support for men with this disease, especially for the devastating effects of most treatments, goes far beyond drugs and scalpels. Support also extends to caregivers, to prayer, to food, and to laughter.
Anyone who doesn't want to read about a topic can just click to something they prefer.
Couldn't agree more. We are more than our disease, feed the whole person and laughter is one of the best medicine's around. Speaking of, my wife and I flew from the US to Spain about 5 weeks ago and, though we are TSA pre-checked, I wondered which would give TSA more problems, my meds, my expensive classical guitar or the stainless steel in my left ankle. Turned out none of the above were a problem. Best of all, my wife was using a cane due to a minor hip complaint (that's not the best of all part) and, when she went up to the attendant boarding us to ask a quedtion the young lady asked if she needed to board early. She, being the clever partner in this marriage, immediately said yes. We went right on board and I didn't have to check my $7,500 classical guitar. I told her that her cane is now a permanent part of our travel gear. Thank God she can fake the limp.
Thank You for this post, currently I am dripping chemo 19, psa popped up from 124 to 143, no biggy, been there before. I have found if there is something I dont need to read it is quite simple to skip right past it. I am not sure what urgent medical info the guy was seeking, and where he was going to get it. I typically get mine from my Medical Oncologist. I agree this is a support group, we support each other.Besides the question and statement about provenge is a direct comment to one of our primary treatments.Cheers to all!!
Love this support group! Love hearing about all of you LIVING with pca, and your struggles and research and experiences, and living life. It gives us caregivers some sunshine. I would never want to be shamed for my posts. Most of which have been written in some very emotional, draining times. Thank you all for sharing a glimpse of your lives- good and bad. Life is good!!
I didn’t see the “piss on floor” post but I can confirm that with an innie (turtle) penis, peeing on the floor or all over yourself is not an infrequent occurrence!
At least I wipe off the collateral damage for fear of someone following me to the head and cursing the A hole who was just in here!
When someone asks me how I am (typical of all retail people, etc.) my response is "Marvelous, darling, just marvelous! How brilliant of you to ask!" It always gets a chuckle.
