Radium223 Side Effects

Hi folks.

I just had my 5th Xofigo treatment. I've had bad diarrhea and nausea for 10 days and now a headache. I've had the big D before with the last 4 treatments but not this bad. These are known side effects, but this intense? Has anyone else experienced this?

I had one series of injections. No side effects. Did your MO advise on treatment? With taxotere immodium stopped my diarrhea quickly-2 tablets did the job.

I had all six injections. I had these side effects plus vomiting. Your docs should be able to help with controlling it.

Just curious about how many days you had the nausea/vomiting after your injection. I'm thinking about Xofigo for my next treatment. Were you able to control it with meds?

Thanks for the posts guys. Until the 5th injection, I had diarrhea and nausea for about a week. The doc gave me Compazine for the nausea which worked. Pepto (the pink stuff) worked for the other injections but not this one. Will try immodium for the last one.

Hi, Lakefisher. Sorry about the trots. Don’t ignore them and do try Imodium so you don’t dehydrate. I had the usual runs with Xofigo, and just raise the possibility that your extended problem may be something in addition to side effects, like bacterial or viral infection.
