Semen

I don't know just how personal I can get here, but.....my seminal vesicles were supposedly taken during my radical prostatectomy, but when I "induce" an orgasm, I appear to leak seminal fluid.  Any ideas?  I apologize if it's TMI.

Excellent question Totally appropriate

Sometimes what appears to be ejaculate is a combination of a bit of urine and the alkaline based fluid from the Cowper's gland that is commonly known as pre-cum.

Totally excellent question!

I have the same question I was going to ask my doctor when I go for my 6 month checkup in July.

I have the same thing. Not all the time, but it's getting more often and more semen, or whateverit is.

That was the one thing, to me, helped make the orgasms better.

The cancer center I go to, has a sex therapist there, and had told me, that a man can have an orgasm with a flaccid penis. I couldn't see how that could be, but after several times of trying, it does work! And with practice, it gets firmer and firmer, until, for me, 6 months later, it gets hard! Even in the morning on its own. It is not the same size as it once was, but with the help of a pump, I'm working on that too.

First off, it's never a TMI question on here. My understanding is that if the Cowper's gland is saved during radical syrgery, and erectile nerves are saved, there will be some clear discharge, even when flaccid. During orgasm, there is no ejaculate as experienced pre-op, but the sensation can be just as strong as ih the "old" days.

Please don't feel embarrassed.      We are writing about normal functions of the male body, and there is nothing inappropriate about bringing up an important issue, and you do all of us a service by being open about it.

After surgery, some guys have completely dry orgasms, whether through intercourse or masturbation, and some have a little incontinence, and some have other secretions, as Darryl pointed out from the Cowper's glands.

I used to be very shy about discussing bodily functions, but since having the cancer, now I have lost all false modesty, especially after having things stuck up every bodily orifice  (exceot for the nose---and they'll probably get around to that one of these days.....lol)

I have the same problem with Cowper's Fluid. It flows even if I sit for an extended period. The tip of my penis gets sore sometimes after arousal, which never gets hard, but the sensation is there. It is sore for about a week afterwards. Does anybody else suffer from this? Also, when I asked my Urologist , (his female PA) she didn't seem to be knowledgeable about Cowper's fluid. She said it was urethral mucous and that I should take an antihistamine to relieve it. I think I am getting a new Urologist.
