This is 7 or 8 days into Elvanse. The first 2 days it felt so much better, I could be distracted by something, but go back to the task I was previously doing. I could remember to look at my list I KNEW WHERE THE LIST WAS.
Then for the next few days it was kind of ok - my sleep was interrupted a couple of nights and I found myself clicking through the multiple open tabs in my browser trying to remember what i was supposed to be doing. So now I’ve moved up to 50mg ( this is day 2) and I feel anxious during the day and a bit fizzy but with no extra focus. My arms ache and my hands are freezing.
Does this get better ? Am I a fraud and feel like this because I don’t even have ADHD and so the meds don’t work ?
Anyone else been through something similar and have words of wisdom ?

I moved up to 50mg after around 6 weeks. I found myself really agitated early evening and similar to you would flick through things on my phone for hours on end.
I was amazed by the medication originally, I finished things I would never have done and maintained my focus.
It has been 7 months now, and I tend to hyper focus and become obsessed with different subjects. I also feel devoid of all emotion and somewhat robotic. My kids are annoyed ad I have become obsessed with cleaning (the house looks amazing 🤣) and I can never seem to shut off.
Everyone responds differently to medication and it does not make you a fraud if you don’t respond 100% to Elvanse/Vyvanse. Maybe 50mg is too much, or maybe you need to give it a bit of time to get used to it.
I’ve been dealing with psych meds for a while (not just ADHD) and I’ve come to the conclusion that unless you are extremely lucky, it’s always going to be a cost/benefit trade-off. In other words, consider if medication solve more problems than it creates, and if your overall quality of life improves.
As for cold hands, Elvanse can affect your vascular system in many ways, so keep it monitored with your GP and report any symptoms.
Thanks @donnie11 . You make good sense on the meds front. Today is a totally different experience than yesterday or the day before so I’ll stick with it and see how it pans out over the next couple of weeks.
