Hi all - I am wondering if anyone else has found some ways to work around the adderall shortage that seems to be affecting our area (NW suburban Chicago). It seems like it has been problematic for the past 3-4 months. Today, I was on hold for 1 1/2 hours by local Walgreen’s to be told that they are out and don’t know when they will be getting more. Since the current meds my 12 y/o is on, work better than probably 50 other variations we have tried, I’m nout to sure what to do. i usually have to find the time to call around to 2-3 other pharmacies- so stressful and time-consuming.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Marie M.

My son just started Adderall and had the same issue. I tried multiple CVS and Walgreen’s locations. I ended up small mom & pop pharmacies and the first one I tried had it. I think that is your best bet at this time. Big corporate pharmacies usually order from the same vender’s which I feel explains why so many of them are in the same position. Hope this is helpful.
I'm not in your area and I know that you might not have the same insurance options as I do, but just in case it helps you or anyone else, I wanted to share that I I had a similar issue and have been able to remedy the situation by applying for my job's RX option for mail-delivery service, ExpressScripts. If you get benefits through an employer, you might even suggest this sort of thing to them to change for the coming year without needing to disclose your diagnosis.
I’m in a suburb of Phila. I was told same by CVS. On back order. Then when I tried to call around to see if other pharmacies had it I was told since it’s a narcotic they couldn’t give me that info? Also was told by another pharmacist they reached thier max for the month and had to wait for more to come in? Sounds like problems getting The drug .
