How to come to terms?
I was advised to have the
mirena
but I wasn’t ready to totally give up on the hope of another baby so I was told it would be fine to give it another year or so of trying and the lap should have controlled the period issues until at least then.

Does anyone have any recommendations please?
I had a
Mirena
coil fitted at the same time, not knowing all the side effects. Months later I started losing my hair, alot thinned on top and at the sides, whilst it did control my bleeding the thought of going bald was worse at the time! I had it removed.

Boss not being very understanding about recurrence of endo
. 😞 Therefore I went to my GP and the advice from the consultant was to try
Mirena
coil and then zoladex injection if that doesn’t work. So in the last month I have had 2 drs appointments and one phone appointment whilst I have been at work. I work as a district nurse.

Also, during surgery they fitted the
mirena
coil and i have found that my mood has been all over the place. Constantly on the verge of tears, no motivation and generally just feeling really down. I'm wondering what others experiences of the coil is??

Mirena
I’m on my third
Mirena
. I love it but I haven’t had a period in 11 years! My dr said it’s completely fine not to have one. Has anyone else experienced no periods at all on the
Mirena
.

Consultation with Dr Edi-Osiage
They put the
mirena
IUD in and it has helped as my periods have stopped but it hasn't taken the pain or other symptoms away. I regularly struggle with fatigue, nausea, constipation or diahorrea, painful intercourse and back pain.

I've hit rock bottom
I am also sensitive to hormones so I'm reluctant to suppress my cycle through the pill; I prefer the idea of the IUD but I had a bad reaction to the
mirena
:'( However I'm getting so desperate that I'm considering going on cerazette again. Ughhhhh.

Feeling rubbish 1 month post op, is this normal?
Im 4 weeks post lap today and I had the
mirena
fitted at the same time. Everything was going pretty well until last week. I’ve been having really bad stomach cramps in the morning and need to rush to the bathroom. Plus a sharp pain either side of my belly button throughout the day.

Heavy Periods
Went to GP today (on a Sunday 👍🏼) and asked for tranexamic tablets again to help with heavy periods. He said I could have them but not for long term use and suggested marina coil (no chance) or mini pill. I told him I had recently started taking liothyronine and hoping this will help my periods. Unlikely

Mirena coil: allergic reaction
Here's a quick description of me & my symptoms so people can note what an allergic reaction to
Mirena
hormonal coil looks like: I'm 41 and had the
Mirena
coil fitted about 18 months after my last pregnancy. I've had 2 kids and didn't want any further children.

Mirena Coil
Could anyone give me some advice about
mirena
coil. I’ve been offered that or prostap injections and I’m unsure which one is better. I have endo and adenomyosis. I get quite bad migraines when my hormone levels are raised and I’m worried about the
mirena
coil as it releases hormones all the time.

How to get the right help?
Had
Mirena
coil fitted 6 months ago but still bleeding and pain. At appt today gynae doc says she is to have 3 monthly injection and HRT treatment but no explanation and very dismissive. Affecting her life hugely as her job involves walking miles per day usually in agony with stomach and bowels.

Positive story - regaining health & body confidence (w/ photo)
(I must add that during this 4 months, I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst on my right ovary as a result of the
Mirena
coil and put on HRT as they suspected it was leaking, so I was pretty much bed-bound for 2 weeks). Ladies - don't give up.

Did your surgeon tell you they removed the mirena, completely, but never found it , and it was still inside you perforated for 6 years?
Even after this
mirena
was removed just 3 months ago, i am still suffering in pain from where the
mirena
perforated.

but because i want a baby they're not currently an option. Any particular foods I should try and avoid? Any support or advice would be great. At my witts end with this pain!! X

Just need to talk...
Also I have the
mirena
so I don’t normally have periods however I woke up with one this morning so maybe that’s why I’ve been so bloated all week.

Endometriosis or hypothyroid? Both?
Plus, I had my first laparoscopy finally confirming endometriosis in November 2017, and had the
Mirena
coil fitted at the same time. Since then, my pain and periods have been so much better, but it's getting worse again.
