Hidden Illness, a poem in anticipation of tomorrow's guidelines
High windows with shutters, closed, small
iron
-clad door, bolted, keeping we raiders out. We live on the edge, fire sling-shots at thick stone walls and wait for the door to open. Let's hope for a miracle with the new guidelines.

Address
iron
and magnesium deficiencies. Obtain a competent hematologist. 2. Try the above solutions I used before my RLS became untreatable. 3. If you can afford it, work with a competent doctor with advanced knowledge of metabolism or a Functional Medicine MD.

Overwhelming Fatigue
I am anemic but get
iron
at dialysis. I have a few other health problems but none that seem to explain my fatigue at least that is what my nephrologist tells me. The dialysis nurse and other doctor’s tell me differently !

Iron,hemoglobin and the heart!
Had a
iron
infusion yesterday and feel very wobbly today with fever but I guess it’s all part of the normal healing from that. I was just curious if
iron
and hemoglobin are somewhat connected or not really and if anyone has had experiences with that.

Switch from Besremi to Jakafi
First five years after diagnosis I was treated with monthly phlebotomy and baby aspirin only. 5 yrs of monthly phlebotomy took its toll and
iron
deficiency and high platelets led me to besremi which had just been approved. Started besremi about 2 1/2 years ago.

Iron tests included in bloodwork?
I have seen pretty low
iron
levels and will begin supplementing with follow-up test I had to request. Anyone else questioned this? Wishing you all the best and happy 2023! -Carla

I was also on
iron
pills (and taking them in the evening) but my functional doc has told me to take a break from them…I’ll no doubt be put back on them soon though! I basically need to work out my new meds and supps timetable! 🤪 Thank you in advance 🦋

Causes of iron overload / hemochromatosis
Below are my results, in effect I’m just outside the range on all but
iron
itself. I currently take T3 only - could this be a sign that I am taking too much?

Latest Blood Test Results
I have been working hard to optimize my vitamins/
iron
etc over the last few months too. I stopped all vitamins etc 5 days before the blood test was taken. Last dose of Mercury Pharma Levo (125mcg) was taken 24 hours before the blood test.

Low Ferritin and iron supplements & Iron Panel interpretation
I am going to get some
iron
supplements, and the GP has noted this, said I will need a blood test in three months to check levels again. I would like some advice on the different types of
iron
supplements please.
