There are some basic things that everyone with RLS should address right from the start – avoiding medications known to aggravate RLS and taking
iron
/increasing your
iron
stores. These 2 simple factors substantially help many RLS sufferers.

one last question ( hopefully)
I hope I can get him to do some tests, like size shape and number of red blood cells, intrinsic factor,
iron
and folate levels etc. Question is this : I have started to S/I with hydroxy, had 3 so far, will that slew all the test results or only the B12 levels?

update from Ruffabug (End of life plan)
He will be working in conjunction with the hospice doctors.I may suggest to him that I have an
iron
panel done sometime soon but for now I am much more at peace with it and am worrying less about the future. Please feel free to comment but I don’t think I could change the plan for the time being.

recommendations for iron supplement
After my last post I’m still not sure what to do about my low
iron
. It showed up in my last blood test with my GP and he prescribed Ferrous Fumerate 210 mg but I felt so ill on them. Nausea and diarreah! Any suggestions please?

doctor who treats with i/v iron first?
Thank you to everyone who provides information here all the time, I appreciate it so much - if not for this forum and help of several members, I wouldn't know that i/v
iron
was an option.

High TPO antibodies.
Cannot get anywhere with this - I am taking
iron
now as my
iron
levels were a little low, I also have 3 or 4 brazil nuts every day as many years ago I think someone told me it was a good idea for the selenium.

Supplement schedule query - which should be taken apart from others?
I've always had low ferritin and months ago started Simply Heme
iron
supplements, which are supposed to be easier to absorb, and blocked only by calcium. I'm now wondering if anyone can advise on my current supplement schedule, in case any of them are blocking absorption of any others?!

I never saw these results and was not so informed back then yet seemed to always be told I was anaemic and given
iron
tablets but looking at these documents my TSH was an issue as far back as 2003 when it was 5.47 and at one point was 11.33 in 2009 and the lowest I could see in 2009 was 3.81.

Update on first visit with Neurologist
I am to keep taking the
iron
supplement. We discussed the rate to coming off pramipexole, and she said that I would need trial and error to find the level that worked for me.

First DEXA shows osteopenia - hoping for some advice please
I have also read
iron
deficiency can cause bone loss and I have been
iron
deficient with and without anaemia most of my life. I developed very heavy periods 7 years ago. I had a terrible, nutrient poor, processed diet until I was in my early 30’s. I now eat a wholefoods, plant based diet.

Confusing iron panel results
What is this supposed to mean and do I need to supplement with
iron
? I have been taking betaine HCL for 45-50 days now (1 capsule with breakfast, lunch and supper) and I think that may be this is why my
iron
levels are this high in range, so maybe my ferritin hasn't caught up to them yet?

People with high blood levels of niacin, (vitamin B3), may be more likely to have a heart attack or stroke than those with lower levels
Grace Wade concludes with a similar recommendation I've made many times in respect to whether to take a supplement; "Given I am a young woman in the US, I may actually need my
iron
supplements.

First SI, the pain, ouch!
I have been taking high dose
iron
as was severely deficient but this has not caused me any gastro effects apart from mild constipation alleviated by Vit C. 2. Is this normal for IM injected muscles to go on aching for so long? Not sure I can take this reaction every other day. 3.

Am I on enough thyroid medication for my weight
Please note I have Lupus and kidney issues and have been advised to keep D levels on a maintenance dose only as can cause stones which I am prone to - and also ferritin - I do not get on with
iron
- have good diet and taking B12 and Vitamin C - I am nutritionally aware and consider I am only alive today

Been a while
I'm told it will repair itself, as I’m now taking
iron
tablets, I’ve increased my seafood and red meat too. They are wondering why I became anemic in the first place.

Update: x-ray shock 😲
I am also aneamic so on
iron
. I have clottication. Thick blood. So...I called the bhf nurse. Very nice and helpful. She said I could ask my doctor for a pain patch for my groin as the blocked artery feels like a pressure. I got ralvo 700mg medicated plasters today.
