My Gabapentin Dilemma
I’ve had several blood tests over a couple years and my
iron
levels are: Total
Iron
level is 61 to 110. Ferritin is 112 to 133. Saturation is 22 to 33%. Binding capacity is 275 to 291. I took Pramipexole for over 30 years and it worked.

I can't take it, I'm feeling suicidal
I'm not made of
iron
and stone. I'm just a 13 year old put in an adult situation for the past 6 years. I don't see any reason. I'm not lingering. I'm nobody. Nobody will blink at seeing me like this. Nobody.

Fluctuating T4?
Attaching my recent bloods (I know
iron
is still appallingly low, even after 5 months of liquid ferrous fumerate but I'm working on that and having the coil inserted next week to stop the heavy monthly periods. ) Any pointers for the appointment would also be appreciated - I want my dose increased

Please may I get your thoughts on 2nd round of thyroid tests?
I have many hypothyroid symptoms some of which overlap with
iron
deficiency and B12 deficiency. I am taking
iron
supplements as I was severely
iron
deficient (ferritin 8ug/L ref range 30-250) and also anaemic in September 2023.

Thyroid and anaemia
I have just been told I have serious anaemia and will have an
iron
injection on Thursday. Can you tell me if there's any connection, or contraindication with my hypothyroidism? Thank you

Previously put on B12 injections,
iron
, D, probiotics etc which has helped a bit. Two years ago, did a Medichecks full thyroid test and all was fine. (I don't know what those results were, so as we know, 'fine' may not be applicable in our expereince!)

Iron infusions
The
iron
may have helped....but perhaps if I need another infusion the Dr. can change the dose.

Falling asleep after taking meds in the morning
Nutrients all optimal (high in range) including ferritin over range after
iron
IV 3 weeks ago. My latest results: Ft4 29% Ft3 63% 24 hours after dosing. I seem to need more t3 as I recently lowered it only by a smidgen and put on 2 kilos on in 2 weeks, feels like water retention.

Somebody asked why I take Berberine. I figured it something good to share.

Start of SCT journey
I know my
iron
level is too high and have been on
iron
reducing medication for the last couple of months. Increase in
iron
is due to fortnightly RBC transfusion of 2 or 3 units each time and that is only keeping my Hb at just above 80.

I have congenital haemolytic anaemia ( pyruvate kinase deficiency) with associated
iron
overload. I am 68 years old. Should I be having antibody tests? Which medication shoul I be on? Is there anything I can do to assist myself?

Multivitamins
I just wondered if anyone could recommend a good multivitamin that has no
iron
. Since my diagnosis of GH in Dec 2022, my GP advised me to stop taking my regular multivitamin as it contained
iron
. However I’ve found it difficult to find something to replace it. Thanks in advance. 😀

BREAKING NEWS. New Draft Guidelines by American Sleep Academy for RLS
There is a STRONG recommendation for IV
iron
infusions. There is a CONDITIONAL recommendation AGAINST dopamine agonists, making the point that in some cases, eg end of life care, it may be appropriate to accept the short term relief from RLS.

Has anyone ever defeated RLS?
Has anyone either found a medication or had an
iron
infusion and been "cured" completely? If not, what helps control it, how long you've taken/used it for? Has anyone ever had a GP or healthcare provider understand what RLS is and how to treat it from the first visit?

Ropinerole to Gabapentin
Just for background, I have a very good Neurologist who is cooperative, I am 69 years, exercise regularly, eat 99% vegetarian, low BMI, and good
iron
counts, and also not sure it is relevant but live at altitude (7600 ft.). Thank you all for your responses and for this forum.
