Is Jevtana easier to tolerate than docetaxel?
My husband has had completed 10 sessions of
docetaxel
. The last three were given with a second dose of Carboplatin. Jevtana is new to us. How is it tolerated? Why can it be given at such a high number of doses?

My oncologist is recommending a chemo concoction of
Docetaxel
and Carboplatin. It’s the last item on the shelf. Have any of you guys had this combo before? How did it go? Thanks, ya’ll! JoeyDad

options after Docetaxel
Once his PSA starting trending upwards he was put on several sessions of
Docetaxel
. Unfortunately at this time, he did not received Lupron as he should have. By this time his PSA was up to 67. As soon as he received the Lupron, it dropped to 26.

Treatment for low-PSA mHSPCa
The only study I can find on treatment for low-PSA: "Mortality Risk for
Docetaxel
-Treated, High-Grade Prostate Cancer With Low PSA Levels: A Meta-Analysis | Oncology | JAMA Network Open" | indicates that adding
docetaxel
to SOC for low-PSA patients had very good results, however this was for non-metastatic

Rechallenge Docetaxel - more than 6?
My husband has just finished his rechallenge of
Docetaxel
on 2/29x He did 6 rounds and while things are shrinking it didn’t have the significant change I think they wanted. So his MO at Mayo now wants him to do more chemo until he can no longer tolerate.

Targeting the glutamine metabolism to suppress cell proliferation in mesenchymal docetaxel-resistant prostate cancer

Docetaxel
(DX) serves as a palliative treatment option for metastatic prostate cancer (PCa). Despite initial remission, acquired DX resistance is inevitable.

Now what? Second go-around of docetaxel not responding.
Took 6 rounds of
docetaxel
followed by ongoing Lupron injections and then 3 years of Zytiga. PSA was driven down to 2.0 from 76 with 1st 6 rounds of
docetaxel
. Zytiga drove PSA down again to 3.0 from 14. PSA began rising early this year from 7.5 in January to 36 in June.

Cabazitaxel - memory issues?
I had some "normal" transient "brain fog" at age 66 with
docetaxel
. My memory is as good as it was decades ago. I don't see anything online about cabazitaxel causing memory issues beyond the usual "brain fog" that is temporary.

Good News! Pluvicto Update
The news seems promising: On 28 January (after
docetaxel
, but before Pluvicto), my PSA was 36.2. After 2 rounds of Pluvicto on 8 April, my PSA had dropped to 14.5! So, I am remaining positive! I have a follow up PSMA-PET scan scheduled 17 May.

Finally Something’s Working
Zytiga, Provenge, 8 rounds of
Docetaxel
and, now, Pluvicto. As is standard, after my third round of Pluvicto I had a PSMA PET scan. Finally, something seems to be working. I have numerous mets to my bones and lymph nodes.

Second Line Hormonal
I have been treated with
docetaxel
again and thought it might re-sensitize me for another hormonal drug. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with a situation like this. My thoughts are that I should be trying everything available that could slow my progression.

Pain post SBRT
Completed 6 cycles of
docetaxel
4 wks ago. Started SBRT yesterday. My side effects thus far were all expected and I was prepared for them. Last night had severe back pain (8 out of 10) which lasted for 3-4 hours. It was not cardiac or bone pain per se'.
