Tirosint
I am unable to take tablet form levothyroxine, I have a gene issue with metabolising some medications. I have started liquid thyroxine but I think the ingredients are affecting my stomach and I have been told to stop taking this to see if it is the cause. I see that Tirosint is quite pure but not sure

Vitamins
I inject sc roughly every other week but am going to try every week. I’ve read that necessary to take folic acid ( various ideas on this re amounts) but do you take other vitamins especially B vitamins on a regular basis? Also recommendations re potassium intake? Any other nutritional advice welcome.

Iron Deficiency
Are many people diagnosed with PV Iron deficient at the time of diagnosis? I’ve read on the internet that almost everyone with PV is iron deficient at time of diagnosis (hence the low ferritin) and that phlebotomy makes the iron deficiency worse. My heam told me I was iron deficient before even starting

Bit confused and overwhelmed
Hello, Thanks for being there! Recently given advice from GP to start B12 tablets over the counter but told I may need injections in 3 months time after being retested. Beyond exhausted and struggling to go to work, rest of my life on pause for now. After 2 weeks went back and now started on loading

Is it worth having a private iron panel done when the NHS results can be so different?
Whom should I believe? A few months ago (April) I had the results above via Medichecks. Last week these were the NHS results: Serum Iron: 29.5umol/L (14.00 - 30.00umol/L) Serum Ferritin 22 (13.00 - 150.00ug/L) Transferrin Saturation 39 (20.00 - 50.00%) TIBC 76 (50.00 - 72.00) So according to NHS

"Heterogeneous group of anemias"
This appears to be a chapter from a book. It's an organization of "a heterogeneous group of anemias characterized by the presence of large red blood cell precursors called megaloblasts in the bone marrow. This condition is due to impaired DNA synthesis, which inhibits nuclear division...". Therefore

Taking Ferrous Sulphate Exhausts Me, Any Alternatives?
Hi All, In February 2023 I requested a blood test from my GP as I felt generally awful. I had muscle and joint pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, irritability, hair loss, overall skin sensitivity and moderate acne that scarred. I was also losing my evenings as my body was so tired, I’d nap for hours

I noticed something.
I have done many trials of different amounts and forms of B12. I went over my notes and it could be that when I switched forms there were positive effects when I overlapped forms in that I still had both forms in my blood stream. Emphasis on could be. I have decided to change my self-treating regiment

low ferratin
Afternoon all looking for some more advice. As previously said been feeling feeling terrible for about a year. Doctors thought that it was my low folate as my level was low. Got that level up to late teens and my b12 is high nearly 1500. my ferratin is 29 which is on the low side but my iron study

Hello, I'm 70 years old. Last week I had a vitamin B12 shot on Monday, and then on Tuesday I saw a hematologist because I wanted to rule out that I'm anemic. He ordered labs (they did them right there on site). A few minutes later, he said I was not anemic and was also probably not B12 deficient. (so
