Low BMI, fatigue, and PA?
Hi again, everyone — It’s been almost a year since I received a positive IFAB test and started both B12 and iron supplementation. Since then, I’ve gone from being a very active and competitive runner (30-45 miles per week, though admittedly that became impossible shortly before my diagnosis) to being

Is it Vain?
I want a chin lift. Is that vain (or just out of the question) for someone in my condition? Has anyone else with MBC wanted a purely elective plastic surgery that didn't have directly to do with MBC?

Levothyroxine sodium pentahydrate tablets - formulation considerations
Levothyroxine is reaching retirement! It has been available for just over sixty-five years. :-) Despite that, we still have to accept formulations which are problematic. This review paper summarises in its abstract two major causes of these problems. It then identifies shortcomings in the United States

Are my side effects from adalimumab normal and will they fade?
I’ve recently been put on adalimumab for my RA. The first injection seemed like a wonder drug as I could feel the difference almost immediately and was moving in ways I haven’t for years. The second injection doesn’t seem to have done anything except show me some unfortunate side effects. Racing heart

Increased tingling and burning feet AFTER B12 injections
Hi all, I’m hoping to gather experiences from the group to see if other people seem to get the same sensations as me after a B12 injection. I seem to get increased sensation of tingling/electric current through my legs and burning soles of feet after B12 injections alongside a gnawing ache in my calves

Where to get private testing done
Hi I just wondered is anyone can tell me where I could get more in depth testing done for B12 deficiency and pernicious anaemia as my GP only orders the standard serum B12 test and intrinsic factor test Thank you in advance 😊

Can it take up to 3 months to feel benefit of iron infusion?
Hi. After noticing my RLS symptoms were getting worse, I had my ferritin checked and found that it was only 5, so this led to me having an iron infusion 3 weeks ago. I had my ferritin checked again 2 weeks after the infusion, and found out yesterday that my ferritin has now risen to 363. However, this

Why is my B12 and folate always on lower end of normal even with injections/supplements
27m, non-smoker, no drugs etc I had been experiencing extreme tiredness for years and my blood tests were always normal. I asked that they check my vitamins and my B12 was 184 (range starting at 180+) and my folate is always borderline too. This was in 2015. I still felt unwell and eventually had a private

Eye haemorrhage
My optician has diagnosed a small haemorrhage in my left eye and thinks that this could be due to the prednisalone that I'm taking for PMR. She will be asking the doctor to carry out blood tests. My steroids have just been reduced from 15mg to 12.5 mg. Has anybody had a similar problem with prednisalone

MMA test
Hi does anyone know if you can get the MMA test on the NHS. I have had a telephone consultation with my doctor after I sent in my Medichecks Thyroid and Active B12 results. My Active B12 is 41 range 25.1 - 165 and Viapath recommend to be tested for MMA if level is below 70. I emailed Medichecks to

Very high IF Antibodies 300s
In August before my treatment my IF antibodies were 1.2 and I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia (B-12 160 with neuropathy). Now, after weekly injections on June 11th my B-12 is 2,000 and my IF antibodies are in the upper 300s. Does this jump in antibodies indicate pernicious anemia OR is it a side

GP says it’s low B12 Level but not PA
My B12 serum level was 248 which my GP says is at the low end of normal. She ordered one B12 injection a month for 3 months (3 injections total). I have pins and needles pain in my ribs and pelvis and also loose stool but am not fatigued or nausea. I was on Omeprazole for 23 days last month. I asked

Gastritis improvement with injections
I am curious if those with gastritis have found it improved after injections. I had an endoscopy last year, after monthly injections were started, which showed moderate gastritis. This year, the endoscopy showed marked improvement, along with better bowel movements and less intestinal cramping. The

Oxford researchers identify levels of antibody protection required to prevent symptomatic COVID-19.
Researchers from the University of Oxford have today released their findings about the so-called ‘correlates of protection’ against symptomatic COVID-19; potentially a tool to speed up safe development of new vaccines which may assist regulators in assessing the likely potency of any new COVID-19 vaccine

Question about IV iron for anyone who has gotten an infusion.
Hey guys. Just asking this out of curiosity. But has anyone actually had RLS go away or improve after an IV iron infusion? I got one back in October and didn’t notice a perceivable difference. Pretty sure my levels are on the lower end now, so I’m getting an iron panel tomorrow but I just wanted to see
