Ginger
I found myself fancying a ginger beer last evening and so had one, only to then have a better evening. A quick Google reveals there is a correlation with RLS due to the anti-inflammatory properties, although for now I'm sceptical about whether one ginger beer could have had so immediate effect. What

Bipolar Androgen Therapy (BAT) and CRPC
I like the retionale here : Supraphysiologic androgen replacement induces death in the subsequent cell cycle and the subset of CRPC cells that survive by down regulation of their high AR expression become vulnerable to apoptosis when re-exposed to ADT...the question is how many times can this be repeated

Body Hair Changes & Some Progress Maybe?
Hi all haven't posted for a while but kept up others. This is a bit of a strange one but I haven't found any similar on this site about it so here goes. Since starting self injecting about 2 months ago and still playing around with the frequency I have noticed a few subtle physical changes with my body

Hair symptoms prior to lupus
This lupus thing is really driving me crazy, why can we not find a relative reason to this craziness? I would like to hear what type of hair and skin conditions anyone had or remembers having prior to their lupus days. I will start with my mother, then me then what my daughter has and does deal with.

I am new here. Diagnosed with PBC in 2002 maybe starting Ocaliva soon.
Hello all, I was diagnosed with PBC back in 2002 at the age of 21. I have been taking close to 1000 mg of urso everyday since then. Maybe 6 years into it my puritus would kick in the week before I began menstruating. Then once my menstruation began it would go away. Over the past three months the

Hair splitting
Hi, there's a lot of discussion about hair falling out or turning brittle, etc. My hair has been splitting a lot lately, multiple splits on some hair and not all at the hair ends. Some splits are quite long, they make my hair look a bit like tree branches. My hypo symptoms have been intensifying

I'm new here
I've only just found this site. It's such a relief to read some of the posts and replies as I thought I was being super ungrateful and pathetic. On the 19th September I returned from dropping my daughter at her new uni and suffered what I thought was indigestion. I did nothing as it passed. Ironically

Non-PCa Prescription Drugs: Statins - Lipophilic or Hydrophilic?
Statins are sometimes described as being either lipophilic (hydrophobic) or hydrophilic (lipophobic) as though that were a binary condition. While Pravastatin is extremely hydrophilic, fluvastatin is an example of a statin occupying an intermetiate position. Hydrophilic statins: Pravastatin & Rosuvastatin

New to PCOS
Hi all :-) I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS after a year of trying to conceive. I have been started on clomifene 50mg today but because my periods are non existent I have also been given progesterone to induce a period so I can start my clomifene. Just wondering if anyone else has had to do this

Hi I'm A newbie. I have autoimmune hepatitis and was diagnosed in April this year after a liver biopsy. Was a long journey to get there. Have been having blood tests since Jan 2015 after being in hospital with severe abdominal pain . Routine tests after being discharged showed increased liver function

I am new to this forum and interested in Diet and itching
I have had PBC for about 10 years but just recently the itching has become unbearable, it is so good to read the posts on here and know I am not alone! Has anyone found drinking more plain water and eating foods that are good for dry skin such as oily fish, avocados, sweet potatoes and cucumber helps

Stage iv. Adt ...adding chemo? Number of sessions cycles? Different protocols? Cold caps?
So far 2 docs. Advised chemo as the next step to distaste stage Iv PCa withsny many widely distributed mets. Their protocol is 6 sessions 3 weeks apart. Are there other effective protocols to get the most effect but the least amount of docytaxel, to do its job but limit long term side effects? Also

Beachy Head = best marathon in the world!
Summary:
Beautiful, exciting, interesting scenery, almost all of the route off-road. Wonderful organisation with Mars Bars, sausage rolls, ponies noses, swimming pools, and banter. I fell over and hurt my hands, but still had so much fun! Everyone should do this marathon :) Chip time was 5:17:

Opinions needed on business idea - am I nuts?
Hi! I've had lupus since I was a child and have had to take this year off work (I'm a primary school teacher) due to bad reactions from medications. I'm much better now and have been thinking it's a bit crazy to go back to teaching full time so am considering starting my own business and I'd like to

Paediatric First Aid
On Wednesday and Thursday of this week I was on St John Ambulance paediatric first aid course for my role as a foster carer. When the trainer got onto the subject of brain injuries I interjected when he stated that injuries that penetrated the skull always cause more damage than one which doesn't. When

Warfarin to Rivaroxaban
Hi It's been a month or so since the results of the trial were published. Has anyone swapped yet and if so how are you getting on? For me Warfarin is working just fine but I'm really considering swapping over, mainly due to the frequent INR trips out of work and diet interactions. I'm just undecided

Hello I am new to this forum, I was just wondering if any has treatment for very dry hair. I am on thyroxine 125 and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 12 years ago. But recently my hair dresser has noticed a big difference with my hair. thank you Sugar-fancy.
