Fighting Prostate Cancer with Exercise and Diet (Part 1)
Even more exciting: Participants in the ERASE trial showed improvement in cardiorespiratory
fitness
. For men with prostate cancer, cardiovascular health should be a concern, and improving it should be a goal.

Life changer
However,little by little my
fitness
has improved and yesterday I did the second run of week 5 and do you know what? ? I really enjoyed it and found it relatively easy. I know it's early days, but this has literally changed my life.

Breathless after Covid and anti-virals?
I'm seeing the respiratory Nurse at the local surgery next week for an assessment and have been referred to the local sports centre for exercise to build up my
fitness
. Has anyone else had long-term breathlessness following antivirals?

Pace lesson learned
I believe that as stamina/
fitness
/strength improve by simply getting out there healthily, my time will improve when my body is ready. I don’t need to push it but if I do there are intelligent (planned/organised/healthy) ways of doing it.

first run!
I managed the 60 seconds bursts easier than I had anticipated considering my
fitness
is absolute terrible. I'm doing it in the gym for now until I feel brave enough to get out and about!

Going up & down with Pred - Steroids or pain? - Help!
If I'm feeling good can I start to exercise & try to regain the
fitness
I had before or will this just acerbate the situation & make things worse? I've been prescribed amitriptyline 10mg to help with pain.

Week 6 Run 1 - Great Advice
I have learnt my lesson - if this slow pace is doing me just as much good building
fitness
and stamina then great, I have confidence of making it to the end, something I felt would be impossible just 6 weeks ago.

All Done Now So Is It Onwards & Upwards?
Still breathless climbing my stairs but that may be just my
fitness
waned again or the anaesthetic/ pain meds. Only one drug change Bisoprolol down from 12.5mg to 2.5mg from tomorrow as in theatre 1.25 was good.

CATCH-UP-CORNER...WEEK 2...SLIP off your SHOES and rest a while...You will be Glad that you Did !
We do, after a couple of weeks begin to lose
fitness
, maybe sooner , depending what has kept us on the IC, so nearly a month between runs! I maintained my daily routine, but easy...

Week 9 run 3 completed today!
Off I went to the physio and I diligently followed all the advice but I was afraid to try running again as I could at least enjoy the
fitness
benefits from walking with less chance of injury. However, I still ended up with achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis.

MDD with Anxiety Disorder and PTSD
It was a year recovery, had to learn to walk again, but it was complete, and not a problem until the pain started down my leg so intensely I could not do the yearly military
fitness
test. Went in for day surgery. Scar tissue moved in and encapsulated the nerves. And that was that.

I am still here……!
I still managed a run each week but only 6/7km so not enough to maintain
fitness
. It is a month since my last run because in August we had three great weeks walking in the Scottish mountains, and sightseeing too!

Pacing ourselves: the Visible app
Very interesting article about a new app - Visible, which is an activity tracker but geared towards illness rather than
fitness
, mainly, but not exclusively for people suffering from Long Covid but also living with conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome...and I would say probably applicable to

Update 7.0
He gave me the choice of the "Silver Sneakers" test or his default for younger folks, the Marine Corp basic
fitness
test. I opted for the latter. I did not pass, of course, so no going to Marine Corp Boot Camp for me! I was surprisingly not that far off though.

Early 50s male, healthy till hypothyroidism my first few months experience of treatment
I tried walking more, cycling and swimming, but with low motivation and no
fitness
gain. And yet I have active mates the same age or could see people aged 70 in a better mood and with more get up and go than I was showing.
