I’ve been urgently referred to dermatologist

Hi everyone I’m new to this group. I’m really really worried right now. I’m only 22 and have a new beauty spot/ mole looking thing on my arm which has been growing a little in size since Saturday when I first noticed it. It’s slightly raised. I spoke with the doctor today and she said it could be melanoma and that I’ll be urgently seen my a specialist to see if it’s cancerous.

What can I expect from this appointment with dermatology? I’m so nervous.

Hi, I have had melanoma twice. My first mole was much bigger than that. It looks like you probably caught it early, if it is melanoma. The dermatologist will take it out, it's painless and will send it for testing. Try and go easy on yourself while you wait. One day at a time... I know that is easier said than done. Judging by the size you will be OK. It may not even be melanoma. Don't go down the rabbit hole of the internet, it drives the mind mad which looking back, is unnecessary. Warm hugs to you. X

Hello! Did you ever find out the diagnosis for this?

I was told it was just dry blood and that it’ll go! 1 year later I’ve still got it so they were clearly wrong. Been meaning to get it re-checked actually.

Not what you're looking for?
