I've been struggling with really bad mood swings for awhile. I can't explain them or why I get so angry sometimes and react irrationally. I get a lot of headaches too and generally feel like my brain is off. Can someone please tell me if this is part of the illness or is it depression?
Could be both. I have experienced both. I do know this though. I did not have any signs of depression prior to my Lupus diagnosis, so I feel like depression is secondary to Lupus. I've been in a bad mood for over a year since my hospitalization, medications aggravate symptoms like steroids... Oh and the Lupron injection they put in me... that was absolutely LOVELY! I'm being sarcastic. xD Expect what you're experiencing with lupus. For me exercise and a good set of people to surround yourself helps. A puppy really helped in my case but of course everyone is different.
