My wife and daughter are having butter croissants for breakfast. (Sorry). Is there a vegan alternative?

Hi Willsie01 I used to buy some from Waitrose but they kept selling out so it became a wasted journey and I gave up! Lots of co op bakery is vegan if you ask they will produce an allergen list. Have you seen these, you can buy these in most supermarkets?

Also here is a list of things that just happen to be vegan which you can easily buy in most shops which you may or may not be aware of.

Chocolate is the one thing I'm really struggling to give up so I'll be trying out the Fat Bombs!

The plant based diet is working well although I still need to work on variety. And on getting enough greens. And beans other than heinz! ! I had though of trying to incorporate spinach in a shake.

Have you tried making your own baked beans? Cannellini beans, passatta, garlic, salt and pepper put it all in a saucepan and simmer for 10 to 15 mins.

This sort of thing is good (in the following links) you wouldn’t necessarily want to follow it exactly but it’s good for ideas.

Also for a sandwich I love chickpeas mushed up with lemon zest, vegan Hellmanns mayonnaise, a few capers and sliced cucumber. It’s about as close as you can get to a tuna sandwich. Also nice in a baked potato.

Spinach in a shake sounds good, also you could have mushrooms with spinach for breakfast. We pretty much add spinach to everything. Spinach and chickpea curry, lasagne, soups etc

Just a thought, have you bought any nutritional yeast? As you could do with that for the vitamin B12 as a vegan diet doesn’t provide B12?

If there is anything you think I might be able to help with just ask and I’ll do my best as we all live and learn from each other 🙂

I’m taking the vegan society vitamin supplements, walnuts, lots of other nuts and seeds. Vitamin D. Plant milk. Vegan cheese. Everything I eat is vegan but not enough is home made so I’m probably eating too much processed food. I do love Heck sausages. Are they processed food?

I should start with home made beans. Have made some veggie curries and dals, which taste great when made but didn’t freeze well. Is that usual?

That's good and yes they are processed so ok occasionally or maybe once a week. I'm not great at eating food that I've frozen and dont tend to freeze food for this reason but not sure why the curry wasnt okay I would have thought it would have been fine.

Stirfrys are quick and easy with rice or egg free noodles. You might like stir fry with smoked tofu if you haven't tried smoked tofu maybe give that a try 😊
