Hi,
I popped into Zizi at lunchtime and not being a great fan of pizza or pasta, I decided to have the Vegan bruschetta and it was really tasty and much nicer than I was expecting.
It was on ciabatta style bread. Lots of cherry tomatoes and pesto.
Anyway I just thought I’d mention it as mine was particularly nice and great for a light lunch if you’re out and about or you could order a side to go with it.

That looks an ideal lunch 😊 I know they do vegan pizzas but vegan cheese is really not very nice in my opinion so this would be a good choice. Thank you
The evolution of vegan pizza is interesting 
In Italy there is a vegan one called a 'marinara' which sounds like it should have fish but is actually just tomato and basil (lots of tomato!) and it's great. When I first went vegan in the UK I'd order a margarita with no cheese and extra tomato to get the same effect. But now they have vegan cheese when I try and order that the wait staff are like "are you vegan? We have a new pizza with vegan cheese!" and I have to say, no thanks just the tomatoes.
Actually I quite like the vegan mozzarella but I don't have it much because of the fat content.
Oh Bridget007 they really need to rethink that vegan cheese, it’s just the worst isn’t it. I felt nauseous for a whole day the first time I tried it. I was so looking forward to it as well. Now I say no cheese and as benwl says they then enthusiastically say, oh we do vegan cheese now and I have to say, I’m really sorry but I don’t like it. I think they then think they can’t win, pesky vegans or words to that effect 😂 Next time I would have the bruschetta again it really was lovely. Maybe have a side salad or the french beans with it. It really is not nice ... I even ordered a ridiculously expensive cashew cheese online as I thought maybe it was just the coconut one ... it is not! Still without the cheese you can actually taste the lovely veg or lentils or whatever it was that I used to smother in cheese 😊 I will definitely have the bruschetta and a side salad when I go there it’s a brilliant idea 😊
That sounds and looks yummy Ali, I could definitely eat that. 😋
So could I, right now! 😁 the bread was fluffy and warm and the tomatoes had lots of flavour 😋
