healing from T

I want all to watch the hour long video and information from a ENT surgeon working for the NHS who has had tinnitus and found his own way to heal from T. Very very informative, helps us understand. He makes no claims to be a tinnitus doctor but when I listen to it it gives me understanding, information and HOPE that what he did for himself, is a version of CBT, cognitive Behavourial Therapy, that also takes time but it worked for HIM.

You Tube, Vik Veer, he has a couple videos on there but search for, and I’m paraphrasing, HOW I GOT RID OF TINNITUS MYSELF. Or type in tinnitus after his name. See for yourself. This exactly what CbT is about.

I’m now getting CBT myself (from a CbT psychologist with tinnitus himself!) and I had my first nights sleep last night, and I’ve got nothing but hope for getting my life back.

Here's the Youtube link to the video you mentioned: youtube.com/watch?v=y4zuVk5....

So glad to have seen this - everyone on this forum should watch this! Thank you for bringing this to our attention! Very grateful.

I watched this too and found it really helpful and I followed the advice and it’s definitely improved my tinnitus. I also mentioned doing this to the audiologist and he agreed that’s the method to get rid of tinnitus.

Thank you, this is really good. The first GP I consulted told me "tinnitus is a terrible thing". The second told me "there is no treatment". It's shocking that the average GP knows little about such a common and distressing condition.

I experimented a bit with tone generators and background sounds but if I had to choose one thing it would be the CBT approach for sure.

The brain attention thing makes a lot of sense. Once when I was a lot younger with excellent hearing I had a Caribbean holiday. As soon as it got dark, the wildlife woke up and the whooping, screeching and chirping of tree frogs and various invertebrates was deafening! How on earth can the locals sleep through that? After a couple of nights I slept like a log! The brain just tuned them out as non-threatening.

Not what you're looking for?
