Jadams, the quick answer is that it will get better. But there’s no “cure”, just ways to help.

For example, read the post recently made by djbt and the replies.

Go to the website of Tinnitus UK and have a look at what they say. You can phone them or have a webchat too.

Hi Jadams. Tinnitus can be hard to manage at the start and for some time afterwards but things usually improve. That's not to say your T will necessarily get quieter but it may well have less of an impact on you. What sort of coping strategies have you tried so far? If any. A good place to start is to read the very good book 'Living with Tinnitus & Hyperacusis' .

Hi Jadams, The short answer is yes, very most likely. There are a small amount of people who struggle for the long term but this is rare in most cases as your body and brain find ways to live alongside the tinnitus and make it less bothersome.

With that being said there are definitely things you should look at doing to speed up the recovery and make living with Tinnitus easier. Somethings work for some people and not others, theres no exact list so its worth looking into yourself.

The things that helped me were relaxation, meditation, CBT and sound therapy via a hearing aid. Things were bad for the first 3 or 4 months but once i got on top of the anxiety part, the journey was a lot easier.

It will get better.
