Just a quick ponder as I sit at home today looking at 2 lines on a Covid home test.
I’ve had my T now for 7 or 8 years (feels far longer somehow, must check that) and have had colds and flu with it.
I know the usual things that happened, muffled hearing and T spikes and then sometime later it settles.
Just wondering what people have experienced any different to a standard T peak from colds/flu to Covid?
Also as I type this, maybe I don’t want to know! If honest I do feel a little scared living in the Pandemic for, what is it now almost 2.5 years, and avoiding it until now.
Basically I’ve been fearful of my T getting worse and well …. sort of …. being dead really. The house needs decorating, children to Uni and the garden is a mess. Silly I know but I’m thinking how do I earn money for University times 2, restructure the garden and decorate the house if my T gets ‘any’ worse or I’m slightly dead.
Thanks all - best Graham

It's one study, but it takes into account around 28 published case reports and research into outcomes described by people with tinnitus who have developed Covid-19:
Hi Graham. My T improved after the first 2 vaccinations but got worse after the third -goho figure that one. Got worse still when I actually got Covid 🙄
Hello Graham,I had Covid a few months ago and my T was the same as if I'd had a bad cold or flu. After about 2 weeks all was back to the levels I normally experience.
Thanks as I go through this in real time I’m finding that I agree at this stage. My head is blocked and my T feels worse as with a cold or flu. It’s still the same and them main difference is it’s very hard to employ my coping strategies like distraction and my sound pillow. They are not working as well.Best to you.
Regular tinnitus has been seen as one of the long-haul symptoms in Covid patients, other than this everything else is speculative. A positive thing is that with this correlation, the medical community may finally take more notice of Tinnitus!
No difference for me from a "normal" cold although I would say that I get raging colds when I get them. I had COVID earlier this year and I'd much rather have COVID than a cold based on that experience (I say this from the position of having had my three vaccine shots). I always get a T spike with anything out of the usual (hospital visit = spike, cold / COVID = spike, overly tired = spike etc etc) but not noticed anything out of the ordinary spike / return to usual levels with COVID. Hope you get through it soon and are able to put the T ogre well and truly back in his cage thus reducing his continued grizzling to background noise rather than his current rampaging around your life preventing you from getting on with the decorating and gardening.
I have had T for 8 years or so. Since covid the sensitivity to noise or various sounds are more annoying and the pitch in my right ear is much higher. Could this be that being immune compromised I have protected myself and stayed away from any large crowds. stayed away from malls and places where there is close contact since my life is basically confined to home maybe T is more noticeable and seems more intense. But yes covid has definitely affected my tinnitus.
