Walking is making my tinnitus worse. At new year I gave up alcohol & took up walking. Now I have a permanent spike. This is beyond ridiculous.

Hello EA. You’ve posted about this before, I see. Most people have said walking improves their T so I’m guessing that its really getting to you at the mo.
You may or may not know that the Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) published guidance for doctors to use and as the guidance came out at the same time as Covid not all docs are aware of it. You can have a look yourself by inputting “tinnitus” into their search box. If something there resonates then I’m thinking a chat with your GP might be a good step?
Hi, rather than this being a 'spike' is this maybe a change 'volume' of your T as you now say it permanent?
I found walking helped me with my T as I used active listening to hear 'through' my T (I would spend 30 seconds in the distance, like birds and 30 seconds of listening to something close up, like the sound of my feet on the path).
How are you managing your emotional reaction to your T as if you can get some control on your nervous system you may find your T does not bother you as much, irregardless of the volume of your T.
Funny enough today isn't nearly as bad. It has been spiked for ages & is undoubtedly linked to walking. It always spikes after a walk but normally comes back down within a couple of hours. This latest episode has lasted for weeks. February has been a particularly stressful month for me though. Emotionally I'm not doing so well but today is better. Thank you for your reply.
Hello EvilAries Just out of interest - Does this happen after all exercise or only after walking? I'm thinking along the lines that exercise can increase blood flow which may in turn increase T in some cases.
