Hi Parrcj, we have some free webinars on our website which may be helpful. They aren't specifically about neurology appointments, but they talk about how to make the most of doctor and ENT appointment for tinnitus, and so may have some overarching themes and questions to ask. You can access these here: tinnitus.org.uk/free-webinars , and here: youtube.com/watch?v=BzWGwUz...

Take a list of questions .. Otherwise you might forget what you want to ask . I went today and saw a lovely African doctor. At the end I asked her if there might be a cure for T one day and she said - with twinkly eyes - the person who finds a cure for T will make a fortune 🙂

Thank you, I want to be sure there is nothing wrong neurological wise, as so much of the pain and noise is in my head. I think I am still in the not ready to accept its T.

The frightening thing is when I accept it could be T I have to live every day with this awful energy sapping, distressing, disease.

I cannot see me coping with this every day , every night.

Sorry bit dramatic but that me for the moment.

Preparing notes for tomorrow.

Thank you

All the very best tomorrow Parrcj I hope you find some answers . It's not easy to accept T on any level but - once you have - it becomes a little easier to live with it.

Thought I would update you on my appointment today .

The doctor check in my eyes, tested my reflexes on arm and legs, and ask a few questions regarding head pain and how long the T has been there. Thinking it could be nerve pain, causing T ?

Suggested I try amitriptyline again and they will increase the dose if need be . They will arrange a followup appointment in a few months time.

I am hesitant to takes these but not shocked as they just want to throw pills at you !

Next on this list is telephone appointment with an ENT tinitus specialist I guess as they have sent me a questionnaire to fill in before we speak asking about my T.

How they can diagnose without seeing me face to face and doing tests I don't know 😕

Will see what ENT have to offer.

Is this a nerve pain or not ? Really don't know .

Thank you .

Hi Parrcj This is all very interesting . I hope an ENT doctor will see you in person at some stage but I know they're very busy at the moment . Ask for an MRI scan - if possible. I've been offered amitriptyline several times for pain management but I've declined it. Be aware that side effects do include T . All the best. I hope they eventually get to the root of the problem.

I agree with you the tablets give me awful side effect .

I actually was reduced to tears when she suggested trying them again. Anyway picked myself up and another day today 😌

Thank you for your kind words.

The whole thing is enough to reduce anyone to tears .. I've worn out a few hankies . We just have to keep going & keep hoping - one day at a time . Let me know how you go with ENT 🐶
