PT and migraines

Hi everyone,

I'm so upset about my pulsatile tinnitus. I have had it on and off since October. It seemed to be getting better, and hadn't happened at all since boxing day.

I see a neuro for migraines, and had booked in with him to discuss the PT this week. He said it was really good that it had resolved itself, and was probably no more than a side effect of my migraine anyway.

However of course since that conversation the PT has come back! It still comes and goes, and so far I've only heard it when I'm bending down to pick something up etc. Neuro said that if it comes back I'll have to have an MRA, so I'm making an appointment to discuss that.

I'm absolutely terrified it's going to be something serious and to be honest, I'm spending each day terrified that I'm going to drop dead at any moment. This isn't living. I wondered if anyone else had experience with PT linked to migraines? I can't find any info anywhere, just normal T.

Hello cubone. I don’t know the exact statistics but the vast majority of T is NOT caused by anything sinister. It just comes. It might have something to do with the migraine, it might not. Just be aware that T is a very common condition - nasty to live with but it doesn’t mean it’s caused by nastiness.
