Social isolation ? Why

Hi does anyone find Tinnitus can be socially isolating and the fear of spikes is why am affected ? So many people with same symptoms ...truly a support forum

I think we are ultra careful in noisy atmospheres ... particularly at the theatre. I wear ear-plugs then ...I don't want to miss out!

I have tried but my Tinitus is sensitive and seems to get worse when am out. Sad hey

Tinnitus is socially isolating and it is a big concern for tinnitius sufferers as well as those with hearing loss. For me, the isolation is because I am so tired mentally from the tinnitus and the fight between the tinnitus, people and background noise.

There are things we can do such as meeting in smaller groups, going to pubs without music and finding out what causes spikes.

There are days I would rather just hide than fight the world but i try to beat those gremlins and stay positive x

Hi Nell. I feel same especially today. Like you say I must be positive but it’s a struggle at time☹️☹️
