Quiet ☺

Before any of you very kind people / fellow forum members get excited that I may have had a wee bit of respite, I'm posting to say how impressed I am with the Quiet Magazine I received a few days ago. I have to steel myself to read it - a mixture of avoidance and not wanting to read swathes about costly research that makes me feel more isolated and despondent. But feeling rough today and a friend not visiting because of the weather I've sat and read every word. I FEEL IT IS ABOUT AND RELATES TO ME. IT IS ABOUT REAL PEOPLE AND REAL LIVES . I dont feel such a mardy and awkward person. In particular the article by Nic about social situations will be photocopied and given to friends and family - they are caring , but I will feel better when they know I'm not the only one asking to move tables, go at different times etc . I love the part where it suggests someone else could think ahead - like they would were a friend in a wheelchair etc. I know BTA can chose to spend their money on research but this Edition of Quiet is great as it helps while we have to get on with our lives in the meantime. My only slight disappointment is that I couldnylon find it online - I wanted to send a link to my friends. Thanks For a real helpful newsletter ☺

I'm really touched by this, Lindsay. Sometimes, putting the magazine together is tough going, and I'm going to print this out and read it to remind me why it's important to get it done!

Warmest wishes

A pleasure - I saw Michelle Booth today and shared my thoughts with her too. Although my tinnitus is much worse due to physical and mental stresses , the Quiet and Awareness Week Posts are playing a part , I am sure , me turning a corner ( along with me refusing to give up ,still doing voluntary work ( when I can hear people!-) , realising I am a good enough carer / daughter and yesterday getting a huge hug when I bumped into my favourite French ex Forest Player at MS Therapy Centre . When he asked how I was , I said I wasn't able to go to Forest anymore because I have tinnitus ( hadn't mentioned it to him before - we know each other ' a bit ' from first meeting when he came to Forest nearly 10 years ago and I spoke to him in French at a Supporters Club dinner ) . He said next time he gets a box , I can join him ( to message him via FB ) . ' Support' and nice things come from unexpected people. He's an amazing guy - gave all his wages and bonuses to charity when out on loan - club leaked it to press. THANK YOU

Oh, and all the articles are online in the Tinnitus Week section, if you want to share them with family and friends.
